Assessment of vehicles

  A vehicle is assessed in the cases of:

  • its damage as a result of a car accident, a natural disaster, etc. in order to assess the damage caused;

  • the application of its taxation or insurance;

  • the execution of court decisions relating to property exaction;

  • its mortgage and handling it as voucher or guarantee;

  • its owner's request.

In assessing a vehicle, i.e. making the estimation of its market value, upkeep, residual value and the loss of its marketable value, the documents should be formalized in accordance with the requirements of the law of property and business assessment fundamentals of LR (‘The News', 1999, No. 52-1672). Only in this case the report of property assessment is considered de jure. One of the essential requirements is preparation of the report on behalf of the enterprise which makes the assessment of the property and is in possession of a qualification certificate confirming its authority. Furthermore, the enterprise should employ property assessors who have been certified in a fixed order.
